Two ways to authenticate.
Both give the assistant access to the same account and the same tools.
One-click OAuth
Add the endpoint URL in your AI client. It opens a Local Sites Pro sign-in, you approve access, and the connection is done. Nothing to copy or store.
Personal API key
Create a personal API key on the Account page in the dashboard and send it as a Bearer token in the Authorization header. Useful for clients where you configure headers by hand.

Claude and Claude Desktop
Add a custom connector, paste the endpoint URL and approve the OAuth screen. The tools show up in your next chat.

Claude Code
Run claude mcp add with the HTTP transport and the endpoint URL, as shown below. Claude Code handles the OAuth sign-in, or pass your API key as an Authorization header.

ChatGPT
Enable Developer Mode first. ChatGPT needs it to add an MCP connector. Then add a connector with the endpoint URL and approve the sign-in.

Check the connection
Ask the assistant "Is my Local Sites Pro account ready to build?" It calls get_setup_status and tells you what is set up.

Add the server with OAuth
The simplest setup. Claude Code prompts you to sign in to Local Sites Pro the first time the server is used.

Copy a key from the Account page and send it as a Bearer token. Treat the key like a password and keep it out of shared repos.

What is the Local Sites Pro MCP server URL?
It is https://app.localsites.pro/api/mcp. Every client, including Claude, Claude Code and ChatGPT, uses the same endpoint.
How do I add an MCP server to Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --transport http local-sites-pro https://app.localsites.pro/api/mcp. Sign in with OAuth when prompted, or add an Authorization header with your personal API key.
Does the MCP server work with ChatGPT?
Yes. ChatGPT needs Developer Mode enabled to add an MCP connector. After that it uses the same tools as Claude.

Can the assistant publish changes without me?
Edits are not live until publish_website is called. Ask the assistant to show you changes first and publish only when you approve.
